To keep a form of congruence why not put all the examples in one place, either the manpage or the file? As someone that's used FreeBSD since 4.0-RELEASE I had to do a less /etc/rc.d/routing to figure out how to use the tunables. It was my fault that I didn't do a man rc.conf, however, never in my using FreeBSD and rc.conf have I needed to look at this manpage. Nor have I ever seen there was one. Might I also suggest a reference in defaults/rc.conf to the manpage?
