Mark Tinguely has found the offending timer. The following patch fixes the problem for me: Printf is fired with the patch applied, and panic doesn't occur. I have tested it on -current cvsupped with date=2005.10.21.16.25.00, and will test it on the fresh -current (in a day or two - I will need to recompile everything).
