Hi Recently (over the past month or so) I've been having issues with my wirless NIC. I'm using wpa_supplicant and DHCP. Something happens either at the time the lease is renewed, or the NIC does a background scan or association is lost for a short while that breaks the ARP table. The interface remains up, reassociates, keeps its IP address and the ARP table has entries for hosts on the local network. However, until I delete all the entries in the ARP table, it cannot communicate with hosts that it has ARP entries for. Sometimes it take hours to occur, other times it can happen a few times in a 5 minute interval. ath_hal: 0.9.20.3 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413) ath0: <Atheros 5424/2424> mem 0x98100000-0x9810ffff irq 17 at device 0.0 on pci3 ath0: [ITHREAD] ath0: using obsoleted if_watchdog interface ath0: Ethernet address: 00:17:f2:50:66:16 ath0: mac 10.3 phy 6.1 radio 10.2 hw.ath.hal.swba_backoff: 0 hw.ath.hal.sw_brt: 10 hw.ath.hal.dma_brt: 2 hw.ath.hal.version: 0.9.20.3 hw.ath.txbuf: 200 hw.ath.rxbuf: 40 hw.ath.regdomain: 0 hw.ath.countrycode: 0 hw.ath.xchanmode: 1 hw.ath.outdoor: 1 hw.ath.calibrate: 30 dev.ath.0.%desc: Atheros 5424/2424 dev.ath.0.%driver: ath dev.ath.0.%location: slot=0 function=0 handle=\_SB_.PCI0.RP02.PXS2 dev.ath.0.%pnpinfo: vendor=0x168c device=0x001c subvendor=0x106b subdevice=0x008 6 class=0x020000 dev.ath.0.%parent: pci3 dev.ath.0.smoothing_rate: 95 dev.ath.0.sample_rate: 10 dev.ath.0.countrycode: 0 dev.ath.0.regdomain: 106 dev.ath.0.slottime: 9 dev.ath.0.acktimeout: 48 dev.ath.0.ctstimeout: 48 dev.ath.0.softled: 0 dev.ath.0.ledpin: 0 dev.ath.0.ledon: 0 dev.ath.0.ledidle: 2700 dev.ath.0.txantenna: 0 dev.ath.0.rxantenna: 1 dev.ath.0.diversity: 1 dev.ath.0.txintrperiod: 5 dev.ath.0.diag: 0 dev.ath.0.tpscale: 0 dev.ath.0.tpc: 0 dev.ath.0.tpack: 63 dev.ath.0.tpcts: 63 dev.ath.0.fftxqmin: 2 dev.ath.0.fftxqmax: 50 dev.ath.0.monpass: 24 dev.ath.0.wake: 0 ath0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 ether 00:17:f2:50:66:16 inet 10.0.0.6 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.0.255 media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect (OFDM/48Mbps) status: associated ssid cluelan channel 13 (2472 Mhz 11g) bssid 00:30:4f:55:f8:c6 authmode WPA privacy ON deftxkey UNDEF TKIP 2:128-bit txpowmax 35 bmiss 7 scanvalid 60 bgscan bgscanintvl 300 bgscanidle 250 roam:rssi11g 14 roam:rate11g 5 protmode CTS burst roaming MANUAL bintval 100 -- Ian FreislichReceived on Fri Jul 13 2007 - 09:51:11 UTC
