Eh, yah, when messing around with zfs from single-user boot, it's a good 
idea to run "/etc/rc.d/hostid start" first.  Otherwise you end up writing 
0000000 as the host id of the last system to mount your zfs pool, and this 
is one of the means used to determine whether the pool is mounted by any 
other system.
