I'm running : <kernel config snippet> device psm # PS/2 mouse options PSM_DEBUG=2 </kernel config snippet> 14:55:53 Tue Aug 10 $ ident /sys/isa/psm.c /sys/isa/psm.c: $FreeBSD: src/sys/isa/psm.c,v 1.76 2004/08/08 01:26:00 philip Exp $ dmesg: psm0: unable to allocate IRQ psmcpnp0 irq 12 on acpi0 psm0: current command byte:0047 psm0: found IntelliMouse psm0: <PS/2 Mouse> irq 12 on atkbdc0 psm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] psm0: model IntelliMouse, device ID 3-00, 3 buttons psm0: config:00000000, flags:00000000, packet size:4 psm0: syncmask:08, syncbits:08 I have a Compaq Presario 2195US with Synaptics touchpad. I used the older XFree86 patch to run the touchpad without moused support before you began enhancing psm. I'm hoping that the psm/moused method will get rid of these annoying double clicks that happen about half the time I click the buttons. I have to use the tap method if a double-click would be a bad thing. (I'm pretty sure I'm not accidentally stuttering my clicks.)
